Albania scored a dramatic stoppage-time equaliser to deny Croatia a victory that severely dents the 2018 World Cup finalists' hopes of reaching the knockout stages of Euro 2024.

Croatia had taken the lead through Andrej Kramaric in the first half, but Albania fought back in the second half and were rewarded when Myrto Uzuni levelled the scores in the 77th minute. Just when it seemed that Croatia would have to settle for a point, Gjasula popped up in the 94th minute to snatch a dramatic winner for Albania.

The result leaves Croatia bottom of Group A with just one point from two games, while Albania move up to second place with four points. Croatia will now need to beat Scotland in their final group game and hope that Albania lose to England if they are to have any chance of reaching the knockout stages.

Albania, meanwhile, will be confident of reaching the last 16 after an impressive start to the tournament. They will face England in their final group game, and a win would see them qualify for the knockout stages for the first time in their history.
